Dr. Anand Kavi has a wealth of orthopaedic surgery experience. Having graduated with top honours in his Master of Surgery program, he has worked in the UK in the NHS system. As orthopaedic surgeon in the UK. Dr. Kavi received extensive training and experience in joint replacement, Paediatric Orthopaedics, limb reconstruction, trauma and micro vascular surgery. Upon returning to India, Dr Kavi developed an extensive practise in joint replacement and endoscopic spine surgery.
Dr. Kavi has worked Associate Professor in Orthopaedics at the MIMER Medical College and an Examiner and Moderator for the Maharashtra Health University. Dr. Kavi actively contributes to social causes having conducted several camps and CMEs in the areas of orthopaedics, HIV/ AIDS, leprosy and polio.
Dr. Kavi has dedicated his clinical practice to Endoscopic Spine Surgery and is National and International faculty for the same.
Completed a dissertation entitled ‘Use of Vancomycin Impregnated Bone cement in MusculoSkeletal Infections at ’Shivaji University, Kolhapur, India – 2003 as part of M.S. (Orthopaedics) which was published by the University. This study outlined the outcome of management in 50 patients of various musculo-skeletal infections treated with Vancomycin impregnated Bone cement in different forms, like beads, rods, chains.
I have enjoyed teaching undergraduate medical students–conducting seminars, tutorials and lectures during my surgical rotation and later as Registrar cum Lecturer in Orthopaedics. Presently teaching Post Graduate (D.Ortho) students at MIMER Medical College, as Associate Professor of Orthopaedics.
